Episode 4 – Making Your Own Path in Life with Rick Howe

On this week’s episode of The Jackson Hole Connection, Stephan visits with Rick Howe. Rick Howe is the Vice President of the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, serves on the board of the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce and the board of Regents of the US Chamber of Commerce. Rick is a husband, avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

Rick first stepped foot in Jackson Hole when he was 4 years old in 1967 on a family vacation from Michigan. Rick’s father, a General Motors employee had the ambition to bring his 5 children to all 50 states by the time they graduate from high school. Out of the 50 states, Rick chose Wyoming to be his home.

Stephan and Rick talk about how Rick became the youngest town council member in Jackson history, how his connections in Jackson landed him the dream job of being the road manager for Lynyrd Skynyrd and how not following in your father’s footsteps may be the best decision you can make.

“When you find something you love, learn to appreciate it and realize that you need to put something into it to get that love back.”

One nugget of wisdom in this episode is courtesy of Rick’s grandfather: “When you find something you love, learn to appreciate it and realize that you need to put something into it to get that love back.” To connect with Rick, email him at RickHowe1@aol.com or Rick@jacksonholechamber.com
